Scheme Overview

PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a premier Central Sector Scheme active in 2026, specifically designed to support traditional artisans and craftspeople of 18 trades, including carpenters (Suthar/Sutar) from the Vishwakarma community. The scheme aims to uplift carpenters under the Sutar Samaj government schemes. Core benefits include formal recognition through a PM Vishwakarma Certificate & ID Card, hands-on skill upgradation training (Basic 5-7 days, Advanced 15+ days) with a daily stipend of ₹500, a toolkit incentive of ₹15,000 (provided as an e-voucher for modern tools), and collateral-free enterprise development loans up to ₹3 Lakhs at a concessional 5% interest rate. Artisans also receive digital transaction incentives and extensive marketing support to expand their business.

Eligibility Criteria

  • An artisan or craftsperson working with hands and tools in one of the 18 family-based traditional trades, specifically including carpentry (Suthar/Sutar).
  • Minimum age of the beneficiary should be 18 years at the time of PM Vishwakarma registration 2026.
  • The beneficiary must be actively engaged in the trade and should not have availed loans under similar credit-linked schemes (e.g. PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, Mudra) in the last 5 years.
  • Registration and benefits are restricted to one member per family (husband, wife, and unmarried children).

Application Process

Important Note for Applicants:
To register for the Vishwakarma Yojana carpentry loan, you must carry your Aadhaar, Bank Details, and Caste Certificate to prepare for biometric validation.

Step-by-Step Application Process:
1. Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for Aadhaar biometric verification and profile creation.
2. Complete the Aadhaar mobile OTP authentication.
3. Fill in the online registration form with trade, bank account, and family structure details.
4. Submit the registration. Details will be verified sequentially by the Gram Panchayat/ULB, District Implementation Committee, and Screening Committee.
5. Download your PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID Card once approved.
6. Attend the Basic Training session to claim the ₹15,000 modern toolkit incentive e-voucher and apply for the collateral-free enterprise loan (Tranche 1: ₹1 Lakh, Tranche 2: ₹2 Lakhs).
